The Seemingly Impossible

My kitty Faith distracting me from writing by sitting in front of my computer screen
Writing these past few weeks has been less than fruitful. I tried to be serious about it. I even went as far as turning off my network connection to remove the temptation of checking my email while writing, and I got my large Oxford dictionary off the bookshelf and put it on my desk, so that it was at hand when needed. That helped for the occasional productive writing session. However, other times, other things got in the way; some partly because I allowed them to distract me.
This non-productivity led me to becoming discouraged about this whole book writing process. I began thinking about the impossibility of having this completed by November. I regretted publicly committing to that deadline and even felt anxious about it; you know, the tightening of the throat, knots in the stomach and restless sleep.
Then I went back and reread the comments from when I first announced I would launch my autobiography on my big four-o on November 4, 2006. Surprisingly, those individuals, particularly my Mom, all believe in what I am doing and that I can do this. That gave me the encouragement and strength I need to get back to it and try again.
Because this book is such a God-driven project, I guess I simply need to grab on tightly to my faith and believe this book is possible if I keep at it, “for nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37). I’ll pick myself up, dust myself off and try again. The lyrics to The Impossible Dream come to mind here!

SO glad to see you’re back on track. Keep going and know that what you are doing is what you should be doing!
Your fan and friend,
Wendy

My cats like to climb up on my desk too! Here is a photo of them (not on my desk though).
